Sometimes, when the ‘to do’ list seems never ending, it can be helpful to maximise the amount of things you complete during your lunch hour.
Here are a few hints and tips to help you complete more of your workload through your free time and dinner breaks.
1. Plan Ahead
Firstly, decide where you’re going to eat before you leave your workspace. Wandering to find food inspiration will lead to heavy timewasting – you’ll probably be surprised at how much time this uses. Instead, you’re now free to perhaps book a meeting or do a little extra work.
2. Be Prepared
Looking to save time and money? Try making your own lunch and bringing it into work with you. This will mean you don’t have go anywhere at all to buy food. You will have plenty of extra time to crack on with any additional work.

3. Schedule Lunch Meetings
You could even book a lunch date during your break to complete any lingering business matters. This is a productive and practical way to free up an extra hour while ensuring you still get to eat. It’s a win, win.

4. Just Take a Break
Alternatively, you could maximise the way you work by enjoying your lunch break to the full. Clear your head. Allow yourself a break to work more effectively in the afternoon. This means, don’t rush your food, don’t head back to the workspace early and leave your phone behind – really step away from the workload. Also, avoid overeating. This will make you feel lethargic during the afternoon. Try taking at least 20 minutes to eat your food simply stop once you’re full.
